Corporate Responsibility. When will they be Responsible?

When a mother gives birth to her child, she and hopefully the dad takes responsibility for the child up until a reasonable age, for example if one's child was at school in the playground bullying another child, it would be the mother's duty to ensure the child would need some sort of discipline, right?

Ok now, Entrepreneurs…

I think they will agree that when they put out a product, they kind see it as their baby, like their creation. So, why is it that once they have created something, they totally take no responsibility for their 'creation' once it is put out into the market not even when things go bad? Or is affecting the environment or people on a mass scale.

I saw a video the other day that explained well why CEO's and CXO's get paid more than workers because the liability lies with them and I agree, no arguments.

Well to do CEO's get paid a decent amount, at least millions, OK so we agree the CEO's get paid more because they are the ones who at the end of the day, who hold all the risk, so when it comes to things like creating masses amount of plastic why don't they take the mandatory Corporate Responsibility for the packaging they used for their product? They shove advertising down your throat, and everyone is buying it, so now you must buy their product/'creation'/'baby' and now you as a consumer must take responsibility for it.

Is it just me or is that ridiculous??

For example, when cigarettes were created the inventors knew how addictive they were, yet they didn't care, it was just a way to make money but is now the biggest cause of Cancer, surely, they didn't know it would end up having such a bad effect, but they knew it wouldn't have a good one either, it was even endorsed in the ‘mainstream’ media. Which has now thankfully been banned.

Another great example when Diesel was invented, they thought it would be better for the environment now it is the polar-opposite also endorsed in the ‘mainstream’ media. Was this just another get rich quick scheme?

Should Entrepreneurs onwards be allowed to put out thing’s willy-nilly without having some sort of process or guideline it must meet?

Especially nowadays because we all know the full impact of plastic and where it is all leading to, where do we cross the line?

For conscious beings we are not actually conscious.

When will the millions of pounds Entrepreneurs earn because they hold liability, start taking responsibility instead of ‘looking’ responsible?

There is no shame in wanting to be creative, an entrepreneur, earning a high wage and living an extravagant lifestyle because the world is abundant, but a ‘higher level’ has a higher responsibility, especially as a society the media puts them on a pedestal which is understandable because they do drive our economy at the end of the day. We are all human, not one human is perfect, we all make mistakes but there are certain things we can control. Now we have clearly learnt from our mistakes and there is enough evidence out there to say why we should be implementing certain Laws, why isn’t there?

It really grinds my gears that this is even a discussion when there should be laws making this mandatory. When will our fellow human being CEO'S start making sacrifices or start being 'liable'?

On the contrary it is not their fault because there has been no Laws nor guidelines put in place by our government who are the ones in power. When will the Government start protecting the Earth, as the power to do so is in their hands?

I hope this post makes you think what sort of world we live in today where everyone passes the buck and swans off living their best life whilst the mass consumer who already must work their arses off for peanuts then have to sort through tons of rubbish in the little time that they have left already.

I have not researched the Cigarette companies, but do they donate to Cancer Charities or are they even helping people give up the addiction? If so, great.

To summarise, we can't turn back time, mostly every product out there has plastic implemented in it some way, we can’t just stop buying these products because most of the food we buy will have plastic used for packaging and we wouldn’t want to starve to death, but shouldn’t these corporates put their high wages to good use in at least coming up with a solution or creating a division which specialises in how to re-use or get rid of plastic without causing pollution? Lastly, we need the Government to pull out their finger from their arse, start acting and enforcing some guidelines for new companies.
